Among the extensive landscapes of Canada’s wilderness, where nature paints its most captivating canvases, I, Katrina Thompson, position myself, camera in hand, capturing timeless moments. My journey, encompassing my roles as a mother, partner, and renowned photographer, underscores the potency of passion, persistence, and perspective.

The peace of nature nurtured my early years as I grew up in a small rural community. This profound appreciation for the natural environment laid the foundation for my photographic pursuits. More than ten years into my skill, I am adept at narrating tales through my interpretive snapshots, every image resonating with the beauty and majesty of secluded wilderness spaces. My art, distinguished by its clarity, accuracy, and dynamic core, has reached renowned journals like Canadian Geographic and even marked presence at the Carrousel Du Louvre exhibitions in Paris.

However, my photographic endeavours have a higher objective beyond recognition and exhibitions. In an era where many are bound by life’s circumstances, unable to explore earth’s vastness, my portraits offer portals to unfamiliar terrains. They inspire, offering visions of places that remain only a dream for many, bringing peace to worried souls, and allowing viewers to witness elements of the natural world previously beyond their reach.

As an intuitive creator, I didn’t always have a lens-centric path. Life gave me varied roles—that of a mother and a wife. In these roles, I found comfort and purpose, cherishing the delights of nurturing and community building. Balancing familial obligations while chasing my passion was challenging but proved invaluable with each frame.

My narrative’s core isn’t merely the magnificent landscapes I capture but the landscape of my life – a harmonious blend of roles and duties, aspirations, and obligations. It’s a tale of a businesswoman who, among hurdles, stands grounded, approachable, and inspiring.
